| Revalidation |

The RCGP has produced a summary of its proposals for the evidence required for the revalidation of GPs (www.rcgp.org.uk/revalidation.aspx).
GPs will be expected to be relicensed to practise as doctors and recertified to practise as GPs, on a 5 yearly cycle; revalidation. For standard GPs, this will involve producing evidence of effective and active participation in five annual appraisals.

The first GPs are expected to revalidate in 2010, so all of us should be starting to collect evidence from 1 April 2009.
There are many ways of learning about the evidence needed for satisfactory appraisal. As part of your Workplace-based Assessment, you will be involved in multisource feedback and patient satisfaction questionnaires. At appraisal, you will have to show evidence about how
