    Revalidation
 
The RCGP has produced a summary of its proposals for the evidence required for the revalidation of GPs (www.rcgp.org.uk/revalidation.aspx).

GPs will be expected to be relicensed to practise as doctors and recertified to practise as GPs, on a 5 yearly cycle; revalidation. For standard GPs, this will involve producing evidence of effective and active participation in five annual appraisals.

The first GPs are expected to revalidate in 2010, so all of us should be starting to collect evidence from 1 April 2009.
