AKT questions—Theme—Men's health

A 70-year-old man has moderate lower urinary tract symptoms (International Prostate Symptom score of 10) which are a mixture of irritative and obstructive. Clinically, he has mild benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Which one of the following pieces of advice will help him?

1. Concentrate hard on the task in hand when initiating micturition.
2. Double voiding to ensure complete bladder emptying.
3. Empty his bladder as often as possible.
4. Increase fluid intake.
5. Organize his life to fit in with his bladder problem.
